Wow. It's been a while.

I've been very, very busy lately. I was taking Italian classes through University of Maryland University College on base. I took Italian 1-3 and Life and Cultures class that covered Italian history, culture and literature from the beginning of history through the Renaissance. There's a second half of that class that covers everything from the Renaissance forward that I want to take as well. Plus a Dante in Translation class that I'm dying to take. Once I take those two classes, I'll have enough credits for a certificate in Italian Studies. I'm hoping to get that.

I also started working at the base Bowling center in February. I enjoy my job there. I'm just working in the snack bar. I work with a great bunch of guys. Mostly Italian. All really good men and women. They're all a lot of fun to be with.

I'm considering enlisting in the Navy myself. I'm still under the age limit. I took the ASVAB on Friday. I won't get the results for a few more weeks but if I qualify for corpsman I'm definitely going in. I might consider other careers but corpsman is what I really, really want.

I love the food, the architecture, the history, the literature...just so much. And the language is so beautiful. How many languages can "kiss my ass" and "mother fucker" make sound almost romantic? LOL
